Overview

This policy explains what information RezReminder (rezreminder.com) collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. RezReminder is a shared calendar and reminder service for families and small groups.

Information we collect

• Account details: your name, mobile phone number, login credentials, time zone and preferred messaging channel (SMS or WhatsApp).
• Optional profile details: a home address, used only to calculate travel time for departure reminders.
• Calendar content: event names, dates and times, locations, descriptions, attendees and reminder preferences.
• Messages: text messages you send to and receive from RezReminder, and their delivery status.
• Consent records: your SMS opt-in, opt-out and activation status.
• Basic technical data: a session cookie that keeps you logged in, and standard server logs.

How we use your information

• To show your group's calendar to members of that group.
• To send the reminders, confirmations and assistant replies you asked for.
• To understand text messages you send to the assistant and turn them into calendar events.
• To calculate travel times for departure reminders.
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Text messaging (SMS) and mobile information

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. The service providers listed below receive your phone number and message content only to deliver the service.

Before you receive any text messages you must select SMS in your profile, check the consent boxes shown below, and reply YES to an activation message:

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Full program details are in our Terms of Service.

Service providers

We share information only with the providers we need to run RezReminder:

• Twilio: delivers SMS and WhatsApp messages (your phone number and message content).
• Anthropic: provides the AI that reads messages you send to the assistant and writes replies and reminder text (message content and related calendar details).
• Google Maps Platform: looks up event locations and travel times (addresses and place names).
• GoDaddy: hosts our website and database.

These providers process data on our behalf for these purposes only, under their own privacy and security commitments. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Who can see your information

Your events and profile are visible to members of the group you belong to and to that group's administrators. RezReminder staff access data only to operate and support the service.

Data security

Data is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections and stored on access-controlled servers. Access to the app requires a login. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account and calendar data while your account is active. Message logs are kept to provide conversation history and troubleshoot delivery. You can delete events at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and associated data by emailing support@rezreminder.com.

Children

RezReminder is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Changes are posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
